Superbowl Sunday?

I got home from work about half an hour ago. I have spent the last twelve hours banging my head against a wall over my Lasers homework. The hardest part about the problems are setting them up, once you have a starting point you get to use a bit of calculus and pages upon pages of algebra to come up with your answer. I decided to work in the lab today because I had a bit of actual research to finish up from yesterday and I knew that the boys would be in today so I would have an opportunity to collaborate with them. We spent quite a bit of time having fun with "my math is better than your math" discussions of our solutions. I have five of seven problems completed (one of which is wrong but I can't find my mistake), I used an entire legal pad and killed a mechanical pencil in the process. My eyes burn, my head aches, and my hands are in pain. I have to admit though, I am handling grad school better this semester than I was last semester. It is an uphill battle and I am just beginning. Most days I feel like I am hanging on by a thread but I guess the important thing is that I am hanging on.

Seeing the dishes in the sink when I walked in the door tonight was a wonderful thing. I washed all of my dishes by hand to allow the warm water to work its wonder on my sore finger joints...

I am mildly concerned about the two problems that I cannot solve. I have heard that this prof is an extremely hard grader. Normally when I cannot solve a problem, I will write down my ideas so the prof can see that I am a "thinking individual" and I generally get partial credit for that work. I am not sure about this professor though. We shall see.

I have Quantum homework due sometime this week that I haven't even touched yet and a Lasers exam on Friday that I need to prep for...

I don't think I am going to get any more work done tonight, which I means I'll have to try to get up earlier than usual tomorrow to work through some ideas in the morning.

I had a few really good talks with Amy this weekend. We are both going to be extremely busy for the next ten days but she is coming down two weekends from now. Its been quite awhile since I have had a visit with a nailed-down date to look forward to.

I need to go think about something other than physics so I'll be able to sleep tonight.
