It seems as though i have chosen a great lab to volunteer in...
- the professor is brilliant and has been doing this research for over ten years (so I'm hoping i do well to guarantee myself a sparkling letter of recommendation)
- the work is cutting-edge, we are creating new materials and this gives us a distinction because there are very few physics labs in the nation that can and do make new materials
but since i know nothing right now, my job for the next two weeks is to read as much as possible on thermoelectrics (which as far as I can understand after one day, is the science of turning heat into electricity)
