brain fry in quantum hell

I was beat down by my quantum exam this morning. I realize that it might be unreasonable to expect my midterm exam for Quantum Mechanics to take place during the regularly scheduled class period of 50 minutes. It would be almost impossible to answer one question on any of the topics we covered in only 50 minutes. I understand that. But understanding that does not make me any less bitter that the prof scheduled the exam at 8 a.m. this morning. I am not a bubbly morning person, I do not function well at 8 a.m. let alone being able to think about quantum that early. Needless to say, my ass was in my seat at 8:05 with my coffee in hand. The exam was three questions long. By the time 10 a.m. hit, which was the end of our class time, no one in the class had finished more than two of the three problems. So the prof sent us to our respective offices to work for another hour. I did the honorable thing and went upstairs, put on my headphones and worked diligently, by myself, for the final hour. I know that many of the people in my class probably spent that hour collaborating together to be sure that they were all on the right track. I hate that my grade may suffer because I did not do the same but at least when I fail, I fail with dignity. I didn't finish the third question. To have done that question justice, I would have had to spend a good three hours on it alone. I can only hope that the prof is a fair grader. I also think that this prof really needs to get knocked off his high horse. A fair exam is an exam that I should be able to finish in two hours, I might be scrambling but I should be able to finish it. Actually, the entire class should be able to finish in two hours. Bleh. I am tired of thinking about the three hours of my life that were wasted this morning...

The highlight of my day was that I received new music from my cousin T this afternoon. Thanks so much for the cd.

I have been putzing on my computer all evening, trying to get it back in working order. I should have clocked some study hours tonight. I have another exam scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. I organized my notes and will study tomorrow. I am too damn fried from this morning to think about anything of substance tonight.
