feeling the love

Today has been a wonderful day. I feel very loved. My phone has been ringing off the hook and I have heard more than my fair share of interesting renditions of 'happy birthday'. I was able to sleep in, have lunch with my work/school friends, take calls from friends and family that I wasn't going to see today, open fun presents, get a bit of work done, and finish up the day with a little shopping. Friends that I haven't heard from in ages crawled out of the woodwork today to wish me well. Friends that are around on a daily basis found ways to make today special for me.

The one not-so-good part of today has to do with my major prof. Now that Josh has finished defending his masters thesis, my major prof has decided to put Josh on my project. If my project works, it is supposed to be my research for my masters. I don't know if this is my major prof's way of lighting a fire under my ass to make me be more productive, but that is what he has done. The way everything stands now, I will not be getting a spring break or even a weekend off until the end of the semester. I need to slam out some results and apparently, I am not getting them out fast enough. I am not going to let this project get taken out from under me.

I am going to go enjoy the remainder of my day.
