brainfart

So yes... I may start posting more now that I have a working computer at home.

I discovered at about 4 p.m. this afternoon that my ass will be grass later this week. I forgot to proctor a general physics exam this morning. I am sure that the prof is angry and that my lack of attention/professionalism towards my TA responsibilities will be brought to the attention of my supervisor (fortunately, not the same prof who is my major prof). I seriously just forgot. Major brainfart or something. I was actually on campus, sitting in my office while the exam was being given. I don't know what my problem is... So I had to meet with my supervisor this afternoon to confess my brainfart and figure out how to deal with the prof I screwed over... It was a productive meeting. My supervisor told me not to worry about it, things happen, he will deal with the prof if he turns me in. Then we had a long talk about how miserable I am. He is one of the only profs in the department that doesn't do research. He has many other responsibilities and he is one of the few profs that I have found that actually cares about the welfare of students. The result of my talk with him was that I am having an unusually hard time with adjusting to grad school but that I will make it. I just need to hang on, take it day by day. That I have the training, ability, and determination to succeed, that I just need to hang on and keep working. It is nice to know that he has faith in me...
