I am back.
I had a wonderful time in the midwest. Good food, good company, good drinks (especially coffee with lactose free chocolate milk), and fun activities. I only froze my ass off the first night and day I was there, then it warmed up nicely. I also got the fires and bbq's that I wanted. I slept, I relaxed, I ate, I recooperated from the semester. I learned how to play 'bags' and shocked myself (and mary) at the batting cages by hitting almost every single ball. Mary and I walked through the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry and wandered through a great little neighborhood in the city. On the way out of the city, I got to see Buckingham fountain, which is quite a sight. Maybe I'll post some pictures this weekend. We'll see.
Back to work today. Meetings all day. I have been given my summer projects. I have quite the 'to do' list. It is kind of funny though, my 'to do' list might be a few pages long but it is not in the least bit daunting. I know that there is only so much that I can get done in one day and that everything on the list will eventually get done. Last year, I would have been stressed just by the shear amount of work that such a long 'to do' list entails. This year has taught me a lot and I am still hanging on. Speaking of hanging on, I did survive this semester with an A in Applied Quantum Mechanics and (scraped by) with a B- in Lasers and Applications. I was happy that the B- wasn't a C. My GPA is slowly climbing above the average B.
My cat won't let me out of her sight since I've gotten back. Whenever I am home, she has to be touching me in some manner. She is a much sweeter cat now, she doesn't quite fit the 'monster' nickname anymore I gave her when she was a little kitten. It was the first time she had been left on her own for more than a day (I did have a friend come over to check on her).
I have not heard from Amy in two weeks and two days. It hurts.
I am in the middle of an argument with my best friend, Jessica. We are at a turning point in our friendship, it will either last or it won't. Either way, I have a few things that require some thought before action.
On that note, I am headed out to a pub to watch a girl with a sexy voice sing.
