I am currently alone in the lab. The boys left a few minutes ago. Matt will be camping this weekend and Grant will be gone for the next week and a half. My assigned projects have changed since yesterday, I will be taking over one of the projects that Matt is currently working on (this is the same project that I was taken off of the month before final exams so I could concentrate on my course work, I am happy that it is has been given back to me, even if I've been working on it for 12 months now with no reasonable results). This means that I will be taking out his samples tonight, grinding them into a powder, and storing them in the glove box until Monday. Normally, I would have to put them back into the vacuum furnace but I can't this weekend because we are dangerously low on nitrogen for the glove box. I will have to wait until we get more delivered on Monday to finish up that part of the synthesis process. At least there is enough to pump down tonight and store the samples safely in the glove box. Once I get that all done this evening, I am going to take a long dinner break because I have to come back at 11 pm to take out Grant's samples. Fun times.

I am looking forward to my weekend. Saturday morning coffee and NPR. A Saturday afternoon of sitting on my porch reading with some lemonade. Who knows what I will do on Sunday. I am thinking about cleaning out the closet in my living room and reorganizing all of my books, cds, and movies.
