i spent the evening at the coffee shop. with my headphones on, so i could ignore most of the conversations taking place around me, i was able to get some good reading done tonight. maybe this time around, i will be properly prepared for my presentation. i just need to keep with it, keep reading with deep concentration. after a couple of hours, i was interrupted by an old friend who knows too much about my past and not enough about my present. it was nice to chat and catch up, even though she remembers a lot more details from the last five years than i do... details of the stupidity that i have gone through or witnessed, details i make a point to try not to remember...

i'm off to read some anna karenina before bed...
