We attended the conference openning meet and greet tonight. We spent three and a half hours talking shop and meeting ptople that major prof has worked with in the past. The four of us spent most of the time people watching. I was beyond pleased to see that the reigning queen of my research field decided to attend this conference. She is in her 70s and still going strong. Maybe I will have enough courage by the end of the conference to hold a conversation with her.

On a brighter note, tonight a lady told me that I am one hot, sexy lady and that it is too bad she is already taken, otherwise she would be giving me call... it was a nice ego boost.

Now, I am off to get a coffee refill so I can pay attention and cheer on the boys as they practice their talks...
