I drove home yesterday. It was good to see my family. We didn’t do anything special and that was perfectly okay. I spent the first few hours in T-ville watching my dad try to install a new screen door. I find it amusing that he won’t ask me to help with things like that even though he knows what I do and that I am very proficient at things like that. What I find even more amusing is that he will tell me that I need to invent things like a remote way to disable a vehicle that is running from law enforcement vehicles, but I’m not allowed to help with home repair projects. He is a funny man. I took a new route to and from T-ville. It was a pleasant drive. It added a few miles and some time to the trip but traffic rolled at a steady pace, which was surprising for the holiday weekend. I have enjoyed my three day weekend. It feels like it has been so long since I’ve taken whole days for myself, let alone a whole weekend. It was a much-needed break. It was also very good to be out and about, even though it meant putting 500 miles on my car.
