Went to a University Town a few hours away today to meet a friend from high school for lunch. Ari and I haven’t seen each other in six years. She spent the first four of those years in the northeast attending a very notable school earning her bachelor’s degree. She is now a second year law student. It was interesting to sit down and catch up with her. I don’t make a point of doing that with people from high school. I moved away and left that part of my life in the past. Spending time with Ari was interesting to say the least. We lead very different lives. I could still see a semblance of the person that she once was, but was very glad to see the changes that she has made with her life, her views of the world. I won’t go into much detail here but I think I may consent to this reconnection of friendship without trepidation, without withholding. We shall see.
